“STRATEGIES TO PUBLISH IN INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL” WEBINAR

In helping the Ubaya FBE postgraduate students who have difficulty in writing publication in accredited journals as one of the graduation requirements for a “Master” degree, the Ubaya FBE Postgraduate Leadership Club held a webinar entitled “Strategies to publish in international journals” with a speaker, Prof. Augusty Ferdinand as the Ubaya FBE extraordinary lecturer and Universitas Diponegoro Professor. The activity that took place on November 28, 2020, was moderated by Dr. Werner Ria Murhadi, S.E., M.M., CSA.. One of the important tips given by Prof. Augusty in publishing in international journals was “write well because you have researched well.”, which means the most important thing is to do quality research which will then be published in a journal with a good reputation.

The obstacle that is generally experienced in publishing journals is the inaccurate research process which makes our publication is rejected. Other things highlighted by the speaker were guidelines for journal writing, identifying research gaps, tips for presenting literature properly and writing literature reviews, and suggestions for identifying predatory journals that are widely circulating on the internet. Finally, Prof. Augusty also explained how to identify quality journals that can be used as a reference and an estimated duration of the publication submission process in international journals, which is around 1-2 months.

The activity which lasted for approximately 2 hours received very good feedback from the participants. Hopefully, this activity can help students to publish their publications in international journals.
