Saturday, 24 April 2021, Leadership Club Pasca Ubaya held a webinar titled “Environment & Industrial Revolution 4.0 Issues in Business and Accounting”.
Significant changes to generation 4.0 also impact the business and accounting fields. In this webinar, Prof. Dr. Tjiptohadi S. explained the current revolution in developing the digital world 4.0. Prof. Tjipto also gave some important points: ethical issues, accounting standards, technology-related organizational structures, big data (marketing), transactions at Superindo/mart, orders at stores if the warehouse burns down, and supply chain management. Things like this are related to accounting science in real terms. Prof. Tjipto also explained that accounting has a definition, namely Accounting is a process of conducting an information management system, a thinking process in interpreting, summarising, developing, sparking ideas, packaging, improving or perfecting, implementing, understanding real needs, which occur and are relevant and or are related to accounting itself, both technology (taxation, auditing, budgeting, management accounting, public sector, process, and curriculum development, preparation of teaching staff, institutions, and organizations.
Then the second speaker, Fidelis A. Andono, Ph.D. gave a critical point; namely, the industrial revolution 4.0 is the culmination of the development of information technology, where the impact is in the form of disruption in various fields, especially in the economic area, which is the most crucial sector for a country. The era of the industrial revolution 4.0 is known as the all-digital era. Almost all human activities are taken over and facilitated by technology, so this will be a challenge for countries with a high population. Millennials, a generation who become the workforce in the 4.0 disruption era, must have high skills and innovation to compete. Therefore one solution that can be done is to apply the principles or concepts of solopreneur in all lines of business that are engaged to create jobs for others. The idea developed by sociopreneurs, if combined with the character possessed by the millennial generation, will be a solution to facing the demographic bonus and the problem of economic inequality in Indonesia.
Finally, changes in the industrial world also impact Accounting practices.
