Business Visit 2022

After vacuum for two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Ubaya Master of Management study program conducted a business visit on Friday, July 29, 2022. As the first business visit activity after the pandemic, the Ubaya Postgraduate program chose a global-scale company, PT Amerta Indah Otsuka in Kejayan Pasuruan. The factory in Kejayan stands on a 10-hectare land area, with two main factory buildings: a beverage processor factory that produces Pocari Sweat, Ion Water, Oronamin C, and Fibe Mini, and a food processor factory that produces food products from soybeans, namely Soyjoy.

PT Kapal Indah Otsuka was established in 1997 as an affiliated company of Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. Japan, and PT Kapal Api, with Pocari Sweat as its first product. Then in 1999, PT Kapal Indah Otsuka changed its name to PT Amerta Indah Otsuka.

As the company grew, in 2004, PT Amerta Indah Otsuka opened its first factory in Sukabumi, West Java. Then six years later, the company opened its Pocari Sweat factory in Kejayan, Pasuruan, East Java.

During the business visit, students were shown the production process of both Pocari Sweat and Soyjoy, all of which are processed with modern and hygienic machines. In addition to reviewing the manufacturing process, discussions were also held with Mr. Glen as PT Otsuka’s representative. It is hoped that the visit will strengthen the academic and business world and increase the competencies of Ubaya MM FBE graduates.
